Microcredentials in the Czech Republic are being implemented as part of a national recovery plan to enhance the permeability of higher education and adapt to labor market changes. These credentials serve as electronic records confirming the completion of small-scale learning units, aligning with European Union recommendations. The initiative involves all 26 Czech public higher education institutions, aiming to create a unified framework and information system. Key benefits include quality assurance, transparency, and flexibility, allowing learners to customize their educational paths. The project also explores international recognition and collaboration, particularly with countries like Ireland and the Netherlands, which are leaders in this field. Future developments include a digital wallet for storing credentials and potential involvement of private companies in issuing microcredentials, provided they meet set quality standards.
